Conflict between desiring wealth and seeking God

February 27, 2007 at 10:40 am (abundance, abundant, deepak chopra, wealth)

“Love has nothing to do with money, or “abundance” as this video says. It suggests people should follow the law of love so they can become rich. Sign of the times. You should follow the law of love for many reasons none the less happiness, bliss and peace and to be right with God. Please leave any mention of money out of it or keep it to a bare minimum Thanks”. mdrnscrt

Do you agree with the person above who commented on the Law of Love video?

I think your path is your path and money is only a form of energy. You can choose to use money for the good of all or you can choose to use it for your own purposes. The choice and the consequences are yours.

This is what Deepak Chopra says, “wealth is an expression of the spirit” Unfortunately those without money always obsess about getting it, “the solution is to help everybody have wealth.”

“Why should material success be an impediment to spirituality?” “Keep increasing your desires until nothing satisfies you except God. Wanting material wealth is part of that.”

“If I have the ability to create wealth, why would I think about it? Where my wealth comes from is inexhaustible. Consciousness is the source of anything, and that includes wealth. And consciousness is without limits.”

I know this is not the last time I will think about the conflict. What is your view on the conflict? Is it a conflict? Does it depend on you? Will this world go round if all people we doing Mother Theresa work?  Etc.

Abundant love and wealth to you

I don’t think there is anything wrong or evil about money, or desiring to have abundance.

I think the problem is, why do you desire it.

If money is a means to an Ego based end, then it is in error. For example, if I desire money and things in order to feel as good as another person who has more material possessions, then that is an ego based need, not a true desire, thus it isn’t love based, and is in error.

If on the other hand, I desire to have abundant financial assets to allow myself to do something I desire, such as teaching others about the law of attraction, spending time with my family, traveling and learning – then this is a true desire of our true being. The money or things are tools to the ultimate end, which isn’t the money, it is living freely to be who we are. This is, I believe the correct use of abundance.

So, in summation, it is not what you desire, but from whence the desire stems – ego based need, or spirit based self love.

I think what you all say is true. from reading this i’ve summerized that

You shouldn’t be useing the law of attraction to recieve money but to ask the universe for the things you want to buy with the money because as we all know money can’t buy everything.

unless what one said here, if money is a means to an ego based end

this is not the right thing to think of but then again it isn’t the wrong thing to think about either because both still have the power deliver happiness.

to all i wish well, Veronica
